A couple of shots from a student film project I shot stills for a couple of weeks ago. Would like to know what you guys think.
I feel like I want to crop #1 but I'm not sure how...

I think these are both good shots, considering what they really are and what they were really a part of. You have the focus at the correct point in #1, and you have rendered #2 very appropriately, given the lighting that was there.
Very good!

Was thinking, if you feel the need to crop #1 I would imagine the best crop would be to have the top of the frame actually go through the blond guys head somewhere.

Aw man, we never had HD cameras back in film school...
Then again, back then there weren't any HD cameras...
Shutter clicks during filming = bad... remember dude. ;)
First one reminds me of Battlefield Earth for some reason. :p

LoL yeah kids these days have all the shiny new toys... they don't have to deal with cutting or lugging around canisters of film anymore...
I actually kept checking with the sound guy to see if they were picking the shutter clicks up - he said I was fine... I hope he's right
