Go to your local costume store, you can often find some cheap, awesome stuff lying around.

I pretty much get everything at thrift and consignment stores. I've had awesome luck. A lot of people swear by Hobby Lobby -- I haven't had a chance to get there yet. The prices they charge at photo prop sites is staggering!!
