It's about that time of year again, my favorite in fact!

Shooting basketball just is so rewarding in my own opinion, so I thought I'd share a few of my photos from this first game of the season.

Let me know what you guys think

Shot with a 1D and an 85 1.2L II @ f/1.6 (shutter from 1/400 - 1/500) ISO 650.

I love the action and perspective. Faces, ball and focus---Nice. f/1.6--wow.

My preference is for a little tighter shot/crop on the pics. You might try to trade a higher ISO in return for getting the SS up to 1/640 or 1/800. At 1/400, my BB pics are OK but a tad soft from motion blur. Since you have the that 85L, you'll want the full sharpness that is possible with that great lens!

Thanks!
I'll try bumping up the ISO a 1/3rd stop or a bit until i can hit 1/640 to the 1/800 range and see what happens

I figure since I'm already at ISO 640, it probably wont hurt noise too much to stop up a little bit

Good stuff. Gotta watch the horizons though (#8).
