I got in to the launch with a few friends who work at NASA. VIP didn't even begin to cover it. We were in front of the press (those who have credentials) and next to the Vehicle Assembly Building. Last time I shot it from almost 13 miles away. This time I believe I was 3 1/2 miles.

Shots are reduced in size but uncropped.

That's where I got to see my one and only launch. My brother works for Rocketdyne at KSC. Very nice access and very nice shots.

I used a Canon EOS 1D Mark III (10 MegaPixel) set at 5 frames a second with a Canon 500MM F4.0 Lens and a 1.4 teleconverter on a Wimberly II head with the Gitzo Tripod

My assistant shot a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III (21MP) that shoots about 3 frames a second with a Canon 100-400MM F4/5-5.6 Lens. She hand held it.

Both cameras were set to (I forget off hand) ISO 800; Tv with a shutter speed of 1/640 or 1/800. Shooting RAW.
