This is Mike Brabon from Wightlink, incredibly he saved all but two of the 72 shots he faced last night, this being one of them. Unfortunately, thet meant they beat us!

MK are supporting the Mo'vember month & growing Moustaches. This is our coach, Nick Poole. The special shirts have been sponsored with the money going to the Prostrate Cancer charity.

Nice shots overall. The action caught in the first image is by far the best. 72 shots is a hard nights work for the goalie but lots of action for the photographer.

Cripes, 72 shots is quite a workload!

It's a shame that number 14 got in the way of your goalie in the third shot, otherwise it looks like you've gotten some good shots from a rink with fairly poor lighting.

The lighting is slightly better at our rink than some in the league, however i do shoot in JPEG & RAW as sometimes you catch the lights cycling & the pic can be underexposed on the back of that. Generally get away with ISO 1250, 1/500th & f2.8

#s 1 & 2 look excellent, agreed, shame about the player in #3!

Tony,

Does your rink (or many that you've seen) have holes in the glass for you to shoot through?!

I've been asked to photograph some EIHL, particularly the Cardiff Devils and wanted to know if it is as prevelant in the EIHL as it is in the NHL for example.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers,

James.

There are two of us who take pics at Milton Keynes.

I stand on the disabled ramp which gets me just high enough to shoot above the glass & Jez uses a short step ladder for the same reasons.

The trouble with shooting through the glass is that you tend to lose one stop of exposure & you are also relying on the glass being clean!
