Went out and played with my new 70-200 2.8L for the first time. Watched a couple of playoff games and would like some C&C please. Thanks!

I'm not too familiar with the XSI, but try some negative EV. You've captured the action but the shots are a bit over-exposed. -1/3 to -2/3 should be good.

Interesting, I thought that the histograms looked okay but thanks for the comments. :)
It was a very cloudy day and I thought they might be underexposed. Anybody else have any comments or agree with PrimaryCanary.

Hmmm, I like the exposures myself (unless these were night games).

I'm w/ 40D, exposures look quite good to me. #5 is really nice. You need to fix the horizon and crop #1 and 2 imo.

Have you cropped these at all? They are good photos but the quality seems disappointing for a 70-200mm L.
I think it would also help to kneel or sit on the ground while shooting. It's only middle school football so the players are not tall and I think some of the photos would have helped if they were lower. Good job though!

I think the exposure is fine. I also don't see the quality issue with the shots--some are slightly soft but not bad. Most of them look good. Parents will still buy them. Getting lower just makes the photo stronger. You tend to get more face under the helmet when you get lower also. But too low and the facemask may block the eyes depending on your distance to the subject.

Shots look nice. WB seems off in 3 & 4.
