I currently have a G5 and i have a few problems with it... a purple dot in the middle (might be a dead or whatever pixel) anyways ... i need to get a new camera and this time i think i'm gonna go for a small one ... what kind of features would i miss and how would you rate the quality of the pictures?

basiclly what would i miss when i go for a small one ... and what do u think of the Canon PowerShot SD500...

and what other compact cameras would you recommend? all features into consideration

Thank you

The SD500 has the Digic II processor.....go for it ! As soon as I get tired of my S230 I will have one. It's the only replacement I would consider because I LOVE the 230.:D

I have the SD300 and I love it. The camera is very fast and take awesome pictures. I would think the SD500 will be equivalent in performance, if not greater. Please keep in mind that it is a point and shoot camera with very little manual controls in contrast to the G-series.
