im in a digital film class and i need help with brainstorming ideas for my final project. I want to do something in the sense of a glamour/pin-up shoot and my teacher gave me idea of doing something called "removing the curtain" where i take a picture my model with a curtain behind her and then remove the curtain and the situation is something normal but she is still in the same pose and same outfit. for example, pic of her doing a pose in front of curtain, "remove the curtain", her in front of a church. it is a comment on acceptance of how women dress in society and where and what is acceptable.

I was also thinking of just doing different situations, stuff standard like her reading the newspaper in normal clothing, and then her reading it in a pinup outfit. I think this also gets the point across.

what i need help with is the individual ideas... like all i have is the newspaper shot and the church idea. i need to produce 15 images, so basically 7 or 8 different individual ideas.

thank you much for the helpa

Think pop culture. You will need assistants but do one in front of Starbucks you'll just need two people to hold up the curtain. Take your shot and then drop it and shoot again. Logistically a nightmare maybe but very now, do another in front of an iPod store maybe one just crossing a street. Do a bend over pose then remove the curtain and she can actually be putting a coin in a parking meter. Possibilities are endless, research old pin up poses and see where they fit into normal life.

You can do some interesting things with glass and a polarizing filter (CPA). IF the model is behind the glass (as in a Dept. store window) you can adjust the CPA so she's invisible (or nearly so as you prefer) and what you see is mostly the reflection in the glass of whatever is out there (another model different sex maybe). Then turn the filter and you get the opposite effect. Just an idea. Sounds like an interesting assignment. Be sure to post your results. To get this effect camera should be at about 45 degrees to the glass.

do it in front of your school or in the hallway of one of the buildings.
