Interesting........I would probably give it a tighter crop and get rid of the black glob that dominates the upper portion of your shot.

Nice lighting and contrast. Perhaps try tipping your head back so as to eliminate your chin (?). It would also allow us to see the top of your shoulder and the start of your neck. I think this would look nicer then a crop - but that's just me :D Nice work.

Nice capture. Self portraits are not the easiest to do...especially ones where you are trying t be artistic. I do agree with the other comments about either cropping out the shadow/chin or next time simply looking up to avoid the shadow. Of course if you went back a little bit and allowed your head in the frame still in shadow and looking down could also be interesting.

i took one with out my chin in it and one without the tilting of the head but it came out really plain like im a picture from a human anatomy book so i thought i'd give it that "hmm im contemplating" kinda feel

It is interesting and a good image. I agree it would benefit from a crop.

there was no special lighting used, only from my ceiling light in my room
