And I have a couple of bucks left over to blow....so does anyone wanna help me spend it?

I would like to get some kind of decent wireless triggers...so a suggestion there would be nice. Anyone used the Calumet triggers? Didnt know if they are any good, or if i could get something compareable cheaper.

I tried searching but didnt really knoww what to look for...so any help is appreciated

The Calumet Triggers are similar to the Ebay Cactus triggers and have proven to be reliable. If I recall the triggers were around $50.

The cals are 99.99 for a trigger and receiver set and 59.99 for an additional receiver. What are these "Ebay Triggers" I see mentioned? If I ask a stupid question, its from an honest standpoint...when it comes to this stuff Im dumb as a stump...decided to bite the bullet and buy some strobes and get some hands on experience...lol...you may see a calumet 400 set listed in the for sale section in a few weeks...:)

Do a google search for Cactus V2. A set is about $40 shipped. I just got my shipment notification - I didn't realize they were coming from Hong Kong, so in about 2 weeks I'll be able to tell you what I think of them.

I used my money I saved on a set of Calumet Genesis lights on a 50 1.4.

I believe these are the Cactus V2s you see on EBay.

I'm not a pro so $40 is PERFECT.

The wait (shipping from HK), isn't so great :)

nother quick question...do I need TWO receivers (one for each light) or are the lights synced with a cable, and I need only one transmitter and one receiver?

The Calumet 400's don't have optical slaves built in?

Don't be. They are much more reliable than Cactus radio triggers. The only inconvenience is that if you are on location such as wedding they might get triggered by other photographers' flash. (Hint if you use this setup eveybody elses's photos will be overexpsed, a way to get rid of competitors )
