Saw these guys this morning in my garden.....had to get them.

Shot using a Canon 400D with the MPE65mm @ 1:2 using a Speedlite 580EX MkII

Wonderful captures- assume this is a tiny solitary bee- any size estimate ?

Hey Brian,
Thanks for the comments. These are actually two different animals. The First and third image are from the larger of the two bees at about 3mm. The middle bug was about 2mm in length. Getting the hang, slowly, of the MPE. I use a rocking technique on Continuous shooting mode and slowly move through the focal range of the lens, slowly being the operative word. Starting to get some nice results, at least pleasing for me.
