View Full Version : Help with E1 handstrap, please

I just removed the E1 handstrap that I had juryrigged on my 20D. Probably should have left it on and got another one for the 1DS Mark II I just got. I actually would have, but they didn't have it in stock where I bought the camera.

Now that I've removed it, I notice that the two plastic clips through which the strap feeds are different, one being thick, the other thin. Is there a picture or diagram that I can follow to put it on? If this has been posted before, forgive me.

But just one more question. Do you (anybody) keep the neck strap on with the handstrap, or is it one or the other?

I understand you can use them both . . . mine is in the mail so I do not have one to help you with at this time. If you found the post with the directions, read my question (the same as yours) and the answer is in the picture, lol. Number six or so, they just thread the neck strap over one of the hand strap lugs.

Hope this is of some help. I think I saved the 'instructions' for my own use if you do not have already.

Thanks, RJ. Actually, one of the clips remains on top of the hand strap enabling the neck strap to be fed through.

I had absolutely no problem standing by and watching my wife follow the step by step directions. She's good at those kind of things.

I use to think there was something wrong, with doing that. Now? I don't even feel like Tom Sawyer. LOL!

i have the hand strap and the neck strap on my d60, there is a post on here somewhere that shows you how to fit both together properly

The open slot in the buckle in step 2 is used to connect the neck strap with the hand strap.
