Season opener for the Vikings and a great 58-55 win. Both teams are picked to win their conferences so this was a great test for the Vikes early on who have been talkaed about as an NCAA playoff team this season. Lighting at the Wolstein Center wasn't what I remembered it being 400-500/2.8/1600 and I was extremely rusty but here's a few samples from the contest...

Very nice Scott. Where were you sitting to be able to use the 300? I take it you won't be using strobes for these games. The one of the coach is pretty cool. Good job.

Thanks Dan. Used the 300 to shoot a little defense at the opposite end from right under the hoop on my end (if that makes sense). No strobes and I really didn't see much opportunity to set up lights in that venue either. Oh well, Kansas St. this coming weekend so we'll see if the rust starts to wear off...

#1 I dont like balls floating in midair like that. Little bit earlier or little bit later would have been preferred IMO
#2 I would have cropped tighter to put more emphasis on his face and get rid of the players in the background.
#3 I would have gone a little tighter if youre focusing on the player in white or gone a little wider if youre focusing on the action in general. Clipped off feet look funny to me.
#4 Pretty good haha
#5 Not bad but could be a lot better if you could see his face
#6 I would have composed it differently. Try and have action going into a frame if you can
#7 Same story as #5. If you know which team is going to win, or are shooting for a certain team, change your position at the half so that you can cover the bench.
#8 Something about it just seems a little off. Nothing really looks sharp. The ball isnt sharp and neither are his eyes. I guess those forearms look pretty good though ;)

all great comments Adam, thanks for taking the time. #8 struck me the same way and I dumped it. Weird. Also, I think you made a great point about positioning for shots like the victory, I'll keep that in mind.

These look good to me. My favorites are #2, with the guard d'ing up and the coach shot is cool too.
