This may be a dumb question, but I was sent a press pass electronically for a game I'm going to shoot. Should I get a lanyard and holder to wear it around my neck?

What kind of venue?
It wouldn't hurt and would sure beat showing up and being told it had to be displayed and you had no means of displaying it.

Yeah it really depends on the venue. I've been to places where the credentials ALWAYS had to be showing. Even if the same security guard passed by you three times and saw your pass but on the fourth time he didn't (because it got hidden behind one of your lens cases), he would stop and ask to see your credentials.
I've also been to places where they issued credentials, but that was basically just to get into the stadium for free. If you looked like you belonged on the field, security didn't even check the credentials.
Better safe than sorry though. I'd definitely print out and look for a way to display it easily. If it turns out its not necessary, just put it in your bag or a jacket pocket or something.

As others have stated it is better to be safe then sorry. Go to Big 5 or some other sporting good store and pick something up for a few dollars.
