Next, extend the flash head straight up, and attach a flash-card diffuser with a rubber band... With my G5, I have to be reeealllly careful where I set this contraption down, its so topheavy. However, once in hand, I feel it actually handles better, because one hand can stay on the back of the flash...

well i suppose it has a few pro's

1) the obvious better quality flash
2) when i take it out i can say "hey baby look at the size of my flash" haha

The best thing you could do for your flash would be to buy a diffuser... (omnibounce or the like) makes close photography (portraits) where bouncing the flash isnt possible (outdoors???) better
