Has anyone had experience with any of the BP-511 equivalent batteries? I would appreciate some feedback, either good or bad.

Should I go for the cheaper equivalents or stick with Canon?

I just acquired my D60 and want to order a couple of extra batteries . . . at the best price, of course.

Thanks

I have 2 'proper' Canon BP-511s, rated at 1000 mAh, and 2 Uniross equivalents, rated higher at 1200 mAh. If the ratings are accurate, the much cheaper Uniross battery packs actually hold slightly more charge than the Canon packs. In real use, I have seen little or no difference between the two. I use them in a G2 and a D60.
I do not know which, if any, of the two packs can be charged/discharged the most times before requiring replacement. I guess I'll find that out one day!

I think you may find a BP-511 equivalent from MahaEnergy. It seems to be 1300ma and the price is less than the others.

I have been using 3 aftermarket batterries and 3 'proper batteries' for the past 4 months and have not noticed any difference. I have even used one aftermarket and one proper battery on the battery grip and had no problem..... yet.
