It's a nice attempt, but I think the composition could be improved. Not to big on how the guitar is cut off. Maybe a different height as well (get level with the subject and see how that looks.) Keep it up though.

Not bad for being a "new photographer". Just a couple of things. The first thing is that the photo, as mentioned above, is washed out. Secondly, the photo is crooked. I tried to make it as straight as I could and gave it some contrast. As you have photo editing OK, I took the liberty... let me know if you want me to remove it. But, this is my edit (attached).

Perhaps, try this shot again - this time with a little more attention paid to the framing of the shot (keep it straight).

By the way... I'm jealous of your set up... very nice!

Don't take this the wrong way, but the picture looks like it was clipped out of a high school year book. I think that that is what people meant by saying it looks "washed". Although, it may not completely work here, I kinda like the effect. I feel like it may have worked if it wasn't such a tight crop. Not sure why I feel that way, but I do.

It's all good... I don't know what I am doing so all input is fine by me... I will work harder to get picture of "College Yearbook" caliber next time (hee, hee). I have really been working the past week on portraits (having never done them). I posted my first try in "kids and family"... c/c apreciated.
