This was my very first wedding I've ever done. I've brought my camera along to weddings and receptions, but have never been the "official" photographer before. T'was quite the experience.

I was sooooper nervous going there, and before the wedding. I think I did alright, but I could have done better. Please tell me what you guys think.

Looks like you did OK, considering the circumnstances. I will say that the wide angle lens is not flattering at all to the hands in #'s 2 and 7

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, maybe I should have used my 50mm on those shots, or atleast the rings together one. I don't think I could have acheived the one I wanted with #2.

LoL,
Have you ever heard a musician who plays all the notes technically right, but there is no soul behind the feel of the music. This is what I feel from your images. The images feel posed. I also would kick up the contrast, and color and if you are working in Lightroom, maybe some clarity, and vibrancy. Keep at it, your on the right track.

First off, congratulations on your First Wedding!

The Critique:
I agree with cchooks, your photos are... just pictures, they lack your (the photographer's) personality in them. They do not evoke or justly portray the emotions and feelings that are tangible at a wedding.

As for the location.... dang! You sure got stiffed big-time! I would have cropped my photos closer to the subjects so as to help with the lack of a photogenic location.

In #2, I would have shot this pose with both of them holding hands. Also, these two kiss so awkwardly, I would have tried an angled approach so as to help mask the weird 'pooches'.

The Compliments:
Your photos are in focus and your white balance is correctly adjusted... hooray! These two criteria may not seem like that much, but you would be horrified to know how many miss those two.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks everybody for the feedback.

Yeah, I know, the location sucked. But hey, they contacted me a week before the wedding. It was a last minute thing, because before, they just wanted a t-shirt and jeans wedding.

When I edited the RAW files in CS3, they seemed to look ok. I suppose the JPEG version's didn't turn out quite as good, or maybe I save the RAW's in a different folder. I'll have to search for that.

Again, thanks for the feedback. I hope the next time will have more "decor" for more inspirational shots. The shot's I posted were "posed" shots, as I thought they looked better than the candids. They didn't have much of a reception. Cake and eating finger foods, with no dancing.

Should I have posted up more images like this?

Mmmm... no, probably not. Which lens did you use for this wedding? Also, what was your ISO?

I used my Sigma 17-70 mostly, except for a few shots. I don't have a really fast zoom yet. I had my ISO at either 640 or 800 the whole time, except for the first few shots outdoors. I don't have a flash either, other than the on board one.
