I just tried my a70 today, and noticed that I only get black. The menu function, whatever text like erase, set display all function, but the image does not come out on the LCD. The LCD is working, because when I hooked the camera to the pc, to upload the pics, all the pics were black. Like I'm not getting any picture through the camera. What is wrong? How to fix it? Bought it August 2003.

You might have switched modes or had low batteries. In that case, pressing Disp will turn on the LCD again. If that doesn't do it you might try holding in the set button while turning on the camera. If that doesn't do it some other members here may have something for you to try or your camera may have a problem...

I had the same problem with my camera called canon they told me the same thing that arcadesdude said, didn't help, well i tapped the camera and it worked!!! the problem came back but everytime it did the same thing i gently tapped it and it went away!!! It's the cheap fix but it's better then spending $200 on a new camera. I belive the problem (at least for my camera) was the shutter cover being stuck almost closed, let me know if this helps

well, I've sent it for warranty. So that's settled. I asked around, people say its the CCD problem. Not sure though. Right now, its nearly 3 weeks, and I have not received my camera back. Is canon really that slow?
