Am looking for a flash to possibly replace an old Centon, that still works fine... Anyway, what I want to know is how does this compare to say the Canon 430EX, and how does it function with TTL metering? (I have no experience of TTL/E-TTL flash)
One attractive factor is the price - available for £75 from Jessops with the right code, compared to the £200 for the Canon, but I'm also thinking that I may do better to wait until I can afford / need a Speedlite.

Definately go for the 430ex the jessops AFD is not as powerful and does not allow for high sync or manual settings, also looking to the furture if you increase your lighting and add to it the 430ex can be used as slaves and triggered by the 580ex.

Have a look for a guy called kerso on ebay and email him direct for an out of ebay price should come in at around £160 ish. I got mine from him a couple of years ago.

I made the mistake of getting the jessops flash unit and sold it on within 4 months, there is just not enough control of the light
