Hello all,
I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who offered such helpful advice on shooting a wedding. My friend's wedding was on Sunday and I shot it with my 20D and my wife shot it with my Digital Rebel. My wife also worked as my assistant while I was shooting the formals. She was really good at directing people and getting them where they needed to be, so that helped a lot! Overall, the day went really well with realitively few glitches. Probably the biggest glitch was when my 20D froze up on me. It just stopped responding, so I turned it off, and then it would not turn back on again! I remained calm and kind of joked it off with the guys (I was at the groom's father's house at this point) as I proceeded to tear my camera apart. Luckily, I recalled posts on this board about problems with the 20D's battery grip. Sure enough, it was the battery grip. Grrrr. Anyhow, I needed the battery grip attached for my flash bracket to attach properly (I think I'm going to spend the $24 for the flash bracket attachment that will allow me to bypass the battery grip entirely), so once I got the camera working without the grip, I decided to chance it and I put the grip back on. Luckily, it worked, and in a total of about 5 minutes I was back in business! OK, so that 5 minutes felt like an hour, but I didn't have a heart attack and I got the shots I needed.
I've just started looking at the photos and most of them look pretty good. Of course there's a hundred things I want to improve for "next time", but for my first time shooting a wedding, I'm very pleased. I just wanted to say thanks again! :D
OK, now back to my images. I've got to weed some of these out... :D
