This is the second of 3 shots I took at this location. This is an HDR made from 3 exposures. Canon 40D with 10-22mm @ 10mm. This is what I call going extreme with HDR processing but I like it.

Thank you all so much. I am started to change my PP style. Normally, I don't spend very much time at all in PP. Usually a few minutes unless it's an HDR pano. Which requires more time. This one I spent more time on and I am happy with the results.

Very nice Scott. When you shoot like this, low to the ground and forground very close, do you always use a small aperture for more DOF. Do you remember what this was?

Thank you. On my 40D I can have 3 custom settings. For HDR my starting point is ISO100, F16, AWB, Manual focus and 2 second timer. I'll adjust my shutters speed accordingly.

Can you use AEB bracketting like that? I would imagine you'd want to. I've forgotten, my 40D is supposed to come back from Canon today. :)

Thank you Jeff. I use Photomatix Pro 3.1 for my HDR work and Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Camera Raw for the rest.

What was it sent in for?
OH yes, I forgot to mention I use AEB. -2, 0 ad +2. If needed, I'll shoot more exposures to capture the dynamic range of tones I want to.

What was it sent in for?
ERR99. I got many of those almost from day 1. I was always able to fix the problem with formatting the card, changing batteries, one thing or another. This last time, nothing, I tried for two days, every workaround I knew and nothing, couldn't take a single picture without ERR99. Supposed to be back before 3pm today, fixed, they say, but don't say what they fixed. I hate not knowing and wondering. :p

It is extreme with the HDR processing, but in a good way. I like it too.

Thank you everyone.
I agree, getting out in winter is tough but I am looking forward to some winter sunsets. We haven't got hit hard yet but they are calling for a more then average snowfall this winter.

Cross my fingers I have not had this issue yet. I don't think I could go with out my camera long enough to send it to Canon. haha

Well, I do have a 1D Classic as a backup. I actually use it quite a bit for birds though, and landscapes, and HDR, and... And the 40D just got back an hour ago and works fine. They replaced the main motherobard in it and it seems to work better than ever. Nice to have it back too. :)

Nice. Worst case I could just use my GF's XTi. It's literally like new. :D
Always impressed with your work!

With the blue on the snow reflected from the sky it's almost as thought it is inverted, earth tones above and sky tones below. Cool.

Ya. That is what I am looking forward to this winter. Some sunset shots. I missed out HUGE on a sunrise this morning. Colors were intense and didn't have the camera on me.
