Hello everyone,
My name is Sandy or Sandra, I'm new to this forum but not new to photography. I'm embarrassed to say I've been at the beginner/amateur stage for far too long. But, now that I have a bit more confidence and a new lens ;) I'm ready to post my pictures and learn from the experts. I'm looking forward to a new project so I can dive in here and start asking questions and posting my pics to get advice. I have long way to go with my photography and have tons of questions. Hope you guys don't get tired of me;)
Any suggestions on where a newbee like me should start in this forum??
Thanks for reading!!

Welcome to POTN Sandy. You can start anywhere basically, just post pics in correct section of the board and you'll get pointers and tips on how to improve your shots, if they need to.

Hi Sandy! Welcome...
I'd suggest you give a look at the sticky located at the top of each share section so you can get familiar with the posting regulations and then, jump in!
Do you use a photo sharing site from which you can link images?

Hi Sandy, welcome to POTN.
Have a look at the stickies as suggested above. These ones are pretty good for learning stuff: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=6716598&postcount=3

Welcome to the forums! A huge learning base here... check out the stickies as has been suggested and the search function is also really useful.

Thanks,
I've already started my reading. Great info here.
As far as "photo sharing sites" you mentioned to link images, did you mean sites like: Flickr,Pbase and SmugMug ?

Any of those would work...

Yup. I use Imageshack and Flickr for hosting. Imageshack makes it quite easy by providing you with the code to paste into the forum but Flickr is a better gallery site.

Start sharing some pictures in the sharing or comment and critique sections- maybe think of a few technical points you are unsure on and ask about them as well.
Also, I spend hours (WAY too many hours) reading the old posts- there are mountains of info on there.
I'd go looking in the sections you are most interested in. For instance, being a bit of a gear head, I always look into the EOS and lens sections, and then I also check what's up on the wildlife, nature/landscape, macro abd bird sections, as those are my areas of interest.
Anyhow, welcome, and have fun. I reckon this place is way better than any photography school!
