Hitman - Self Portrait

When I dont have anybody to photograph, I model for myself. My inspiration for this photo was a computer game "Hitman". In the near future I am planning on doing a whole series of photos with this same style. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated...

Excellent! I loved that game, and this picture sure looks like a graphic from the game.

yeah, I think you're a little thinner than the Hitman character. Looks really cool, though. My only real critique is that your face isn't very focused

Alex, I like the picture. As the background is white anyway, maybe use a smaller aperture to get the DOF correct. Getting focus currect is bad enough when there's someone looking through the viewfinder.
One small item (apart from the hairstyle)... the gloves look a bit too thick to be useful for a hitman ... more like skiing gloves.

Nice concept and nice shot, if a little soft.

However, you are no where near rough and tough enough to be a "hitman". I would suggest (as above) shaving your head or going for a close cut and then growing three or four days of beard. Bulk up your jacket/shoulders with some padding to give yourself more presence.

About the face being out of focus...
Actually, I remember the exact graphic in the game that this pose mimics.
The look is VERY similar. The 3d rendering is made to look soft and very specular. I think Alex "hit" the exact look.

Btw, which one of you will dare to mimic THIS (http://www.actiontrip.com/features/pics/hitmancontracts13s.jpg) famous scene from Hitman? :lol:

Hitman 1 and 2 are probably my favourite games of all time. Not just the mindless slash/kill like most first person shooters.

Played Hitman too...liked it a lot, til I got stuck on some mission. Have to go back to it !
I find your pic very good, specially for a self-portrait.
Focus a bit soft though...have u tried unsharp mask ?

The focus is not great, i agree. I put a chair and focused on it then while the timer was going i replaced the chair with myself so the focus got a little off, in camera's LCD it looked fine but then I saw it on my computer it was too late.

I am seriously considering shaving my head right after I am done with the new series I am shooting. This time I will try to get all the details right. When I shot that one I didnt have that wallpaper to look at so I did it from memory, I think the pose it close enough.

Andythaler - those gloves are official SWAT gloves so I though they would be appropriate for this kind of theme, but I'll try to find something "light" for the next shoot.

I disagree about the gloves......They add to it imho. At my first glance, i thought the pic was a clever photochop job. And that was partly because of the gloves, they add a near animated like apparance imho. What I think ya need to imitate it better, is a red tie.

BTW, if you got the guts to shave yer head just for the pic.....then my hat's off to you.

I'll reshoot this pic probably in the beginning of April. I'll shave my head and put a red tie on. I am thinking of shooting a whole series. Do you have any ideas as to what poses and props should I do?

I am not that much of a fan of 'hitman' (Although the game is nice) but I just like to finish the topic I am shooting with successful photos, I dont think the current one is finished.
