I'm new to the macro world & would appreciate any comments you may have that can help me to better document the inverts in my collection.

Here's a series of a sort. Same spider over a period of time regenerating a damaged leg a little with each molt. Normally IME, a leg broken off at the coaxa can regenerate to a completely functinoal new leg in one molt (looks normal in 2), but a mid-leg break like this one takes longer to heal. She's back on all 8 now & looking like a proper young tarantula.

Aphonopelma seemani sp. blue 1/4" - 1":

Makes sense to me! Did I say I was new to this? I meant completely ignorant! I'm currently using an action set in photoshop to export the images for web use & that must be knocking off the exif data. I'll work on getting that corrected before I post any more pics. Much appreciated m.j.

in photoshop you need to use "save as" that will keep the exif data, can u remember what settings u used?

Great series. I've never seen an example of regeneration.

EXIF: Nikon D80, 1/125, f5.3 ISO100, 58mm (18-135mm lens).
This is for the last photo, f5.3 will give rather shallow depth of field but this is not high mag so ok. Shame leg obscures face.

Thanks Tendy! Yes I do! I keep quite a few tarantulas (lucky enough to breed 3 species successfully this summer). They're a pretty fascinating hobby that requires very little attention to keep them thriving.

Thanks racketman! I prefer "face" shots too. This image is part of a series I did for sexing mature males & the focus of this pic (highlighted/cirlced in a diagram I used it in) was the pedipalps/emboli (also the reason for the white background). :)
