I am shooting my first wedding this weekend. Actually the couple is reaffirming their vows after 25 years of marriage. Anywho, I did some prep work last night and took some shots of the wedding rings. Below are two that I liked and was wondering which one should be the one I use for their wedding photo book. If they both stink don’t be shy and tell me so I can try again to get it right. I appreciate your comments & honesty.

Colour balance I something I'd hold off on until you have the rest of the images. YoU want your images to look consistent. I prefer the sparkle from the cooler image but like the fact you can read the location of the chapel in the second.
Both work though :)

at first glance i like the first more but i do like the effect of being able to read the location of the second...hard choice...

I like them both....but agree with JD above about holding off till you get rest of the series. Very nice shots.

Quite a ring there!!!
I like the WB on the first if applied to the second's comp.
I think that would go best.

The second seems warmer to me. Neither of them stink! I like the 2nd b/c of the church information being visible...

Both are very nice. I also like the white balance of the first one and the composition of the second. I like the fact that names are not cut off in the second picture.

I think the first one is better, contrast makes the diamonds more defined. Also, the large ring is just beautiful, even if it is huge. If my husband gave me that one, I'd wear it. Of course, I'd need to exercise for a month to work up the muscles on my finger, hand and arm. :)
Congrats.

Agreed with all of the above. I actually like warmer colors sometimes but it depends on how the rest of the wedding is shot. I think the temp of the first with the second shot will turn out to be the best.

#1 for me. I also love the pearls in the background - nice touch!
