A few sharks that didn't have the common sense to fear scuba divers! There were five of them circling around us all through the week at Elphinstone reef, Red Sea.

And yes, we went diving and snorkeling with them. However, these photographs present the sharks slightly mad since the crew decided to play with the sharks using a chunk of raw meat and some fishing line :-)

Cool shots. Can't quite figure out why you didn't jump in the water with them to get a better shot though.

I did jump in! Unfortunately I haven't got the underwater housing for my trusty ol' G3. Friends of mine had uw-housings but I can't post their pics :-(

I agree, the second one is better and I have it framed on my wall. Still, there is something about the first one too, how the shark has turned his profile towards us and the black-and-blue pilot fish is trying to keep up.

Awesome!! These came out great. I did some diving with reef sharks in Moorea but admit I was nervous....

Follow the link "Kalle Valkama". Among other uw-photos there are a couple close-up shots of these sharks. Kalle's photos are from the same site but a year later.

I have been fortunate enough to have dived with oceanic white-tips, grey reef sharks, zebra sharks, a thresher shark and manta rays on my diving trips. Anything smaller is classified as fish food :-) The Ikelite housing is just so damn expensive and in addition you'd need powerful strobes.
