I got to 'stoke' the firebox of a steam thresher this past fall. While I had the door to the firebox open, and seeing a shot, I took this photograph of the fire inside. It turned out better than I had hoped and thus I thought it might be of some interest to the members here. I don't think we have a section yet for 'firebox shots' but perhaps in time . . . as such I put it in, 'Other.'

Great way to keep warm in the winter. Trouble is you do your threshing at the end of summer not so cool.  Nice shot.

Thank you guys . . . the fire has a silly 3D texture to it. I have to stop looking at it.

I love it! Very intense color/contrast between the fires and the cast iron!

Wonderful fire shot!
I'd like to see more of that steam thresher...
The other shot you posted showing it was pretty small, but gave a nice idea how it looks.
Best regards,
Andy

Yep the fire of HE double hockey sticks, or as you spell it . . . same difference. I do have a bunch of shots of this steam engine so I will try to work some up and post for those interested in such fare. They are all from my G2 and or G5 but still serviceable photographs.
I though this such an odd ball shot that it would get the snide . . . lol, just goes to show what I know about photography.
