Had to take a break from the nature photos for a while. Several funky "for fun" photos from the last couple of months...
1. Ride at the Coffee County Fair accelerating to warp speed...

2. The Chattanooga Choo-Choo railway station lobby as designed by Alice (of Wonderland).

3. Fairy Trees in the Fall. A couple of maple trees in my work parking lot.

Awesome shots, thanks for sharing. I really like 1&3.
What did you do to get the 3rd shot? Looks killer...
Thanks

First one is a hit. "The Electric Mushroom". "Electric Mushroom" Hey, I like that!
excellent images! how long was the shutter speed for #1? Glad you liked them Grimes. The shutter speed was exactly 4.0sec on this one. ISO 100.

It was the result of an afterthought. I was attempting to take some shots of a couple of trees in our parking lot with the lot lights behind them. I wasn't having any luck at all and the lot lights were imposing a heavy red cast on everything. So, going by the photographers "rule of desperation", I decided to try some funky/artsy stuff. The fairy tree shot was the result of 2 sec shutter speed - letting the camera rest on the trunk portion of the tree for about a 1 1/2 secs and tilting the camera up toward the top of the tree for the last 1/2 sec to get the blur and streaking. I desaturated the trunks to make them look more like, well, trunks instead of red bamboo. The leaves at the lower left were full of water and the reflection from that water blew out little light spots which, of course, looked like "fairy leaves" so I cloned a bunch of them to create the falling "fairy leaves" as well as placing some under the tree behind. It was a fun experiment in trying something new ... You know, Mevens, "Photography's like a box of choc-lates ..."
Thank you all for your comments. Much appreciated.

Thank you all for your responses. Woolburr - enjoyed your "refrigerator art", especially the fine art section. You may not return to this thread, but if you do, I'd like to know what "Power Rays" was before it became the art that it is now ... very cool looking image.
Regards all...
