Which one would you buy, the Konica Minolta Auto Meter VF - Digital Incident and Flash Light Meter or the Sekonic L-358 Flash Master - Digital Incident, Reflected and Flash Light Meter. iam in the market for a light meter and iam stuck on these two,do anyone have or used any of these two that you can comment on, or do you recommend something different.

thank you

I don't own and have never used the Minolta meter, but do own a Sekonic L-358 and think it is a great meter. You should probably try to play with both if you can to see which feels better to you. Either one is a quality meter, so try to compare features to see which has what you want in a meter. For me, it was the 358. ;)

Hi Luis,

I'm with yendikeno here. They are both quality meters, you won't be disappointed with either result-wise - personal style and taste will influence you. I've always used Sekonic and have upgraded from a 308 to a 508 - both are superb devices, the 508 has a spot metering function and weatherproof which swung it for me.

I third the motion for the L-358. I would like to have the larger unit with built-in spotmeter, but the attachment for the L-358 works. It's just a minor pain to carry the separate attachment in the bag I currently have.

If you plan on using Pocket Wizards to trigger your lights, go with the Sekonic L358 as you can for $25 buy a module that goes in the meter that allows you to trigger your lights for metering wirelessly. I use the L358 and PW's. No PC cords on the floor with 3 monolights.

Excellent choice. The first time you don't trip over those PC cords you'll be very happy. :D
