Has anyone used a second camera for underwater/surfing shots? I have an interest in surfing photos taken from the water, usually taken with an ultrawide lens or fisheye inside a water housing.
I'm looking for suggestions on a cheap, yet durable way to add an underwater camera to my kit.
I have an AE-1 that I could use, but I would need a water housing and ultrawide lens. Perhaps it would be better to use a digital point&shoot?
my budget= $75-150

For anything decent you are out of luck for that price range.
A decent relaible housing alone is going to run you almost $150 and then another $100 for a UWL for the housing and then you have to factor in the Camera body.
When i first got into underwater goodies i picked up a Olympus SP350 P&S and the housing was $189.99 and the lens was another $120.

Not sure how close that is to you.. But if it does not leak or is not damaged its a deal.

lol, that's the craiglist post that game me the idea for this thread.
If I can find a UWA for my AE-1, I think i'd be set. but how could I determine if the thing will leak?

Well thats the problem you really cant determine it untill you use it. You i would aleast before you pay for it at the persons house as them to fill up a bucket of water and put it for a couple of mins and see. Most housings if they are going to leak will leave in bucket of water.

THANKS! I'm going to give that a try.
I also have a Peleng Fisheye to use in the water housing with my AE-1, just need to figure out if I can get an FD mount for it.
