1. I think it's too bright and I'm look at this on my laptop that makes everything darker, and I think the painting effect is too weak. I had to save the file and look at it in ps magnified to see the effect. It might look right on a "real" monitor or printed though.
I like the pose.

Thanks for the input acchildress,does this look better to you?I would be interested in the opinions of others as well if possible.

For some reason my eye is drawn to the elbow and hand first, then to the overall image. Perhaps another placement of the hand closer to the face.

I looked on my office monitor (calibrated) and the original looks better than it did on my laptop. it is still just a tad too bright in the original.
I don't think the second edit is better though, it is smoother and does not show the "painting" look as much. I paint in acrylics (slowly) so my colors don't blend as much as oil paint, so that might be why I like the first one more.

Thanks guys,all you input is gratefully recieved.I still cant get a perfect paint effect in photoshop,I will continue to mess with this shot and see if I can improve the look of it.If anyone has any further ideas I would love to hear them.Thanks again!
