I caught our local at a crossing this afternoon, it has been foggy most of the day and I saw him break out of the mist about 600 feet down the track. I just love to watch them plow fresh snow with the front mounted plow . . . a treat I see all to often. Please notice the two 'big ol boys' inside the heated cab, when I was a kid we had to . . . walk to school up hill both ways.

One of the best combinations since wine and cheese......Trains and snow.

Beautiful job. Nicely exposed.

It certainly meets all my criteria for an excellent locomotive portrait.

Great shot! I like the added utility of the shovels on the front walkway.

I am going to lick a gold star and stick it to my head! LOL, Thank you Belmondo. As to the shovel this is a Local and thus switches cars in and out most of the day on the local spur. There is most likely a broom in the cab to clean out the switches as well. We don't want to jump the frogs now . . .

Powerful shot! The contrast between the colorful locomotive and the foggy white background is just powerful. And I don't even get off on trains like the more sophisticated among us.

Thank you Stan . . . trains are a first love with me. I grew up not far from a main line and have UP Yellow/Gray in my blood. I got to see the conversion from steam to diesel and just love the old streamliners. I catch a ride on 844 and want to ride the Challenger next.

Trains are fun . . . give them a try. Don't you have rail service if Florida?
