Does anyone else make anything close ? The charts I have looked at only show it .

Yes, you can use normal 1:1 macro lenses and extension tubes to get similar effects. They are even more difficult to use though because you have to swap in the tubes to change magnification versus cranking the lens length as with the MPE.

You mean Canon charts? Look into bellows. Can give you about any magnification you want however there are many drawbacks.

thanks , I have several bids in on focusing rails but didn't think about bellows .
Novoflex [ spelling ] has a reversing thing that allows for auto focusing .
Will goggle bellows now , thanks again

MPE_65 is the only macro lens on the market that goes past 1:1..bellows is ok but you wont be able to use ttl on your flash and the aperture doesnt work.best way is a set of tubes,a macro lens and a 2nd lens reversed..this means u get about 4X life size and still have ttl on the flash working and aperture on the camara.

Just a correction - TTL will work with bellows AFAIK.

LordV - thank you . I was debating with myself over the MPE 65 , 70-200 or the 100-400 . The 65 is kind of a dedicated lens where the other 2 - I can use more .
I got the reversing adapters Saturday - used with my 50 . Nice but I not steady enough - so I will be getting a rail .
Looking more like the 100-400 - at amazon it's under 1300 now where the 70-200 is lower than 1000 .

Was that on a NIkon body ?- think it does screw up Nikon flashes having no lens detected, but it's fine on canon bodies.
AFAIK= As Far As I Know.
