Yes Yes Yes I was lucky enough to spot one of these Lucky Lotus' this afternoon when I was cruisin with some buddies...I thought Damn what a beautiful car... I had to compress and resize to get under the 100k limit so i apologize...if you would like to see a noncompressed larger image just email me at importsupra95@aol.com and i'd be more then happy to send it to you...Tell me what you think of the car and the shots!

Wow! Hot ride and nice pics - looks a little like the RX8 - on crank!

I spose the Elise is a rarity over there, pretty common here really, especially around certain parts of London, am failing to see how it resembles an RX-8, they’re much older for starters.

Ummmm it's an Elise... the favourite ride of "sporty" hairdressers...

It's a bit on the soft side. The image I mean. the subject is an exciting one but somehow i didn't get the 'high' looking at it as compared to some others like the F1 and the drift pix. Could it be the lighting?

The Elise is a great little car. Nice picture of it.
I'm going to Donington Park on Saturday in a Caterham Superlight :) the photography opportunities will be excellent.

Cracking little cars. They've been out in the UK for a few years now, and they have developed a bit of a hairdresser/estate agent image in recent years. But, as a track-day tool, they are hard to beat for the money. I know they're a bit softened down for the US market (handling and ride comfort). It's a shame really, because they're all about handling and not comfort. I think Lotus are aiming at rich young americans who want to cruise in an exotic "European" import rather than the die-hard petrol-heads who want a balls-out road racer. I'm not saying that only these people will buy them, just that maybe that's why Lotus dumbed it down a bit.

It's still better than MY car :-(

Gary.

I'm not very sure about the details of the car, so thank you for the information quickben. They are beautiful cars tho. Your side of the world is lucky enough to produce many beautiful cars, unlike the U.S. whose cars basically suck. We have a few beauties like the Viper, and ummm....ummm...yea the viper, and classics of course.

And also thank for the compliment on the shot.

I wasn't going for a look or anything i just wanted to hurry up and take a few shots before the guy looked out his office window thinking "who the hell is looking at my car?" and i didn't want him to give me a greeting with a baseball bat lol :-D

taking pictures of some else's car reminds me of Gone in 60 seconds. LOL!!!
i don't think the USDM Elise will be dumbed down that much. If anything it will be faster than the UK Elise thanks to the toyota's 190hp vvt-i engine. yup... and with reliability to boot too.

That's the equivalent of a Ford to me, I only lived down the road from the factory so I saw Elises and Esprits virtually every day! lol

TTsupraman,

nice capture, but the image is soft, as was was commented before.
Maybe try stepping down your kit lens a bit to get a sharper image.

I assume you used it wide open because the lighting was not that great, but you might try to bump up the iso ... or get the 50/1.8 lens before you go for the Sigma 50-500.

Best regards,
Andy

If anything it will be faster than the UK Elise thanks to the toyota's 190hp vvt-i engine. yup... and with reliability to boot too.

The UK version has had the Toyota engine for about six months now in the form of the 111R. Unfortunately, it's not a lot faster than the 190 bhp Rover K-series it replaces. It's still VERY peaky with a narrow power band. My friend's mother has a Corolla with the same engine and it sounds like a strangled cat on-cam. They trialled the Honda i-vtec from the Civic Type-R but it was too expensive and the Rover KV-6, which was too heavy despite the marked increase in torque. I think Lotus should start making their own engines again, they're very good at it :-)

I miss my old Elise :( even though it was very impratical and became more so when our son was born so I ended up selling it and buying an Impreza Turbo so we can at least fit 3 of us in it :)
