Some family pictures.

I was asked by my Cousin's wife to take some family photos of their family and a friend of hers family for Christmas photos and I told her I'd do the best I could knowing I could at least do a decent job. Here are a few, please let me know how I did. I will say this, kids are tough! Thanks!

I can appreciate how tough it can be to take photos of children as it is a challenge to get them to sit still never mind look at the camera. Although I am by no means any kind of expert here are my thoughts on your images.

#1 I think the focus is off in this one, it looks like the tree is in focus and not their eyes.

#2 captures a great expression.

#3 could have used a different angle to eliminate the cabinet from behind the lady.

#4 Is a decent photo but I think it would be more interesting if the boy was not sitting straight on, maybe have him turn at a slight angle and then look back to the camera. That said with kids sometimes just having them look and smile is asking a lot never mind formally posing =)

#5 I really like the shot and the idea of him reading a Christmas book! Maybe just crop a little of the extra empty wall space from his right side.

Overall I think you did a good job. They are nice and bright and evenly lit.

I agree a lot with what korsan said. My favorites are #2, with her cute expression, and #5, I love that idea. #3 the little girl's face is blurry. I bet mom will like the pics. :)
