I use a variety of methods. I print only a small fraction of my photos, sometimes I use an online service, sometimes I use a local store, but I usually use electronic delivery.

i go to kitamura for large prints (larger than 8x10) and I go to "snaps" in jusco for my 8x10s. I don't print anything smaller than 8x10 usually. The 8x10s are about a dollar each and the large prints are pretty expensive. a poster size print at kitamura is about 60 bucks, although it is printed on great paper and you can get it adhered to some cm thick hard foam for no additional cost.

Till now, I do my "pre-processing" with PS on my computer then send them over the internet to a lab for printing. Each 4"x5" copy costs me 9 € cts (which are more or less 12 US$ cts.
I am planning to buy a good printer to make large copies by myself in a near future.

Kodak 8600 and a Hi-Ti 730PS.
Waiting patiently for the Kodak 1400 to arrive!
For larger prints and posters I use Desktop Digital Lab (http://www.ddlab.net) out of Florida. Superb quality, great, personalized service and fast turnaround.

High quality large printing is really expensive here: A2 (32 * 20 inches or so) costs US$110, or from a good inkjet print US$50. Mounting on a 9mm thick block of wood costs another $60 or so.

I go to the local store. They have a Frontier printer and I really like the results. The images comes out quite saturated though, so I have to keep that in mind when post-processing. The B&W images have a lot of contrast too on their printer, so also have to remember that.
I've used a chain store too and they give darker images, but their sepia comes out cool because of this.
Both stores you pay maybe max $1 per 10x15cm prints. Cheaper the more prints you order. I usually won't go unless I have at least ten images for printing.

up until my 20D purchasei have only done 4x6's. i have a handful of 5x7 and 8x10's though. so there are the sizes.
all the previous printing was done with files from my fuji finepix 3800. 3MP camera.
i started online with shutterfly.com. have used ritzcamera, target, walmart and another local store for pics. i recently tried winkflash.com and they turned out rather nice. much cheaper too.
now with the 20D i am hoping to do more larger printed pics. mayb up to 11x14 or even 16x20. but of course i have to take pics that are worthy of those sizes.
kinda hard to mess up a 4x6. though target has. with their perfect touch processing they botched up a number of car show pics for me.

what site do you use online?
dotphoto.com .17 per 4x6 plus shipping wich get to about .20 to .22 each. No fading.
I just ordered a couple of larger prints to check the quality with the 20D vs. what I was used to with my old Sony - does the print quality hold up - NO comparision with respect to the cameras.

I print my own up to 8.5X11 on the Canon Pixma8500. I exclusively use a variety of Ilford Galleria paper.
I have ordered some large prints from an online service here in Canada. They have done 11x14, 16x20 and 20x30's for me. They do better than any local pro lab I have tried and their pricing is reasonable as well.
For the Canadians here try http://www.imagespin.com/

That's interesting. Recently I printed about 20 A4's on the Frontier and they too came out very saturated. I blamed it on my monitor.

aam1234,
I love the shots my local store gives because the colours feel very alive, but yes I always have to take that into consideration when post-processing on my laptop. I do like the saturation though as it makes the colours really stand out.

So far, any print that I really wanna show off, I get done on mpix.com. If I just want a quick and dirty, I'll print it on my Lexmark Z13.

i keep seeing ads in photo mags for mpix, but never checked it. the ads make them seem like they are in the know and the only place to go.
will have to at least check the site to see.

I usually print A4 with my canon IP8600 at home. With 8 color printing it really gives very good results. Economically its not that great though.
