Great colors...the shading around the borders bring you in right away and then let you explore it.

Superb shot. Everything in the frame matters and just flat out works. Well done sir!

I always find it fascinating that people can create pictures that work from scenes that I would never in a million years have shot myself. Maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere...

Love it! There is so much to look at, but everything has its place. I wish I could spot these sorts of scenes.

great shot. There's a lot going on, yet nothing is overwhelming.

Thats whats great about photography...you can capture great images from typical, mundane things.

looks more like looking in the trash. Nice colors with the graffiti.

LOVE the colors, and I'm a sucker for a nice vignette. Awesome shot.

Awesome shot. This photo says a lot about graffiti.

thanks everybody for the comments :)

i'm quite stoked with this shot. more so because i hadn't planned it. i'd just waltzed into an alley, and was analysing how to frame the bins along with the street art. then the door suddenly opened, and i found myself staring at an asian chef through the viewfinder, who was also looking right back at me for about 5 seconds. then he went on his merry way to throw the rubbish out.

i'm kinda bummed nobody mentioned the symmetry of the cartoon croc and the chef :(

Hey Jay, this is my favorite of your work so far! I am not sure if I would pick up on the cartoon croc had you not mentioned it, but I think it resides in the viewer's head subliminally enough to make them think. I certainly did.

I like the PP and pop in this photo. Did you dodge and burn a bit?

Long time no see by the way, I am glad you're back. I myself have been a bit scarce on the forums lately, lots of stuff that needs finishing.

Is the vignetting done in PP? If so, how?

hey pio, thanks mate. i actually thought, after processing the shot - damn, it's so BottomBracket! no dodging and burning though. i was too scared to mess around with it too much as it was taken at a ridiculous iso (1600 - taken in the evening, in a dark alley). i was quite surprised that it came out decently out of the 400d without too much noise. oh, and hurry up and finish whatever it is your doing. your presence and photos are dearly missed here on the forums!

thanks projektsol. this shot was taken with my main walkaround:

Canon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM

Is the vignetting done in PP? If so, how?

yes. it was done in photoshop. how? basically use either a rectangular or oval shaped selection. before making your selection, however, feather it to your liking. this ensures the vignetting is gradual. inverse your selection then apply it to a new layer - either colour fill to black or a curves layer. change the blend mode of that layer to multiply or overlay (depending on what you'd like to emphasize with your photo) and change the opacity to your liking. i hope that helps :)

This is very nice, great colors!

thank you Razor :)
