I shoot in mixed lighting and it's hard to figure out the correct white balance sometimes. I don't want to shoot a grey card and then post process images in Photoshop. How many people out there use a color meter and what are your thoughts on it.

If you shoot in mixed lighting, then an a color meter won't help you. What you need to do is gel one of the light sources to match the color temp of the other.

A color meter would be useless to a lot of folks if it could not read the color of flash sourced light.
