Printouts coming dark

I have a quick query for anyone who can answer this. There are few photographs which look absolutely fine on my laptop. But when I took printouts from a kodak kiosk, they turned out to be dark relative to what they are on laptop. Can you pls let me know what's the reason behind this

The brightness on your monitor is set too high. Most monitors are set much too bright as a default. You may want to calibrate your monitor.

Either that or the kiosk prints too dark.
