I just got CS4 and am having trouble with HDR photos. I send them from LR2.1 and when they finally load in CS4, they are real milky looking and i cant seem to get them to look right. Am i doing something wrong?

hmm, interesting, when you say HDR, are we talking the 32 bit renders or the 16/8 bit LDR conversions? Just thought I'd ask to help clarify what might be going on. Sorry I don't have LR or CS4. Just Bridge and CS3. But I'm curious as to what would cause this problem as well. Did you use CS4 to compile the HDRs or another program? When you say you send them from LR, are you talking about just the pre-rendered images before CS4 HDR compiling?

Yeah i just select them in LR and "Edit in CS4 as HDR" or how ever it's put. Then as CS4 renders the 3 or 4 photos into one as a 32 bit image, it's just flat and milky looking. I must be overlooking a set in getting the final version to "pop" like a HDR should. It's one of the main reasons i purchased Photoshop is the ability to to do HDR's.

ah, I see, there is another step to go through yet!
once you have your 32 bit HDR milky image you must
now convert it to a 16 or 8 bit. Once you change to 16/8
bit another screen will appear with some more options. At least
it does in CS3. There were some links in here somewhere I can't find yet,
but I think this is where you might be stuck.

one of the tutorials I read somewhere, was suggesting to use "local adaption" in the
conversion window. But like anything else, it's all a matter of experimenting and practice.

Almost forgot. While you have the 32 bit HDR up before conversion would be a good time to save.
