I wanted it to look somewhat like a painting when I was done. What do you guys think?

Looks good maybe bump up the contrast a little.

^+1 on the contrast. HDR tends to rob a shot of contrast. I took a look at this with high contrast and it's terrific. Try it and see if you like it. It still looks painting-like.

it does look like a painting...but overblown sky is a drawback.. :(

for a painting...it has to be a beautiful sky..

Yea, unfortunately I dont have multiple exposures on this one... Just learning this stuff with some old pics and some I took around the house. I wish the sky wasent just white.

replace the sky with some pictures of cool sky in photoshop? Just an idea

yep i like that one but maybe make your lower bracket picture i bit more under exposed to try to get that sky back maybe get some more shadow in there

The clouds look a bit funny to me. They don't seem to pop like the rest of the picture. Maybe adjust the contrast/saturation on the clouds?

much improved image...but the distance between the tree-line and the clouds look a lot...I dont know if that makes any sense.. :)

you need to play a little more on the clouds to merge them properly with the image...
but a very nice attempt...definitely better that what I could have managed...
