It's that time of year again...
Lansing has decorated Michigan Ave. for the holiday season, got their tree up and everything. Just thought I would share with you guys some shots I took tonight...

Nice... I like #4 the best. Seeing the Toy Soldiers' point of view is creative.
Question: What do you think of the Tree?
I know you had nothing to do with the way it looks like, but.... don't you think the folks on the Lansing Holiday committee could have done a better job on the tree?
I think #3 is a dope shot with the building in the BG, but the colors on the tree kinda kills it for me.
You know maybe it looks better live... sorry, I don’t mean to be negative.

First of all, thank you for commenting. I appreciate it when people take time out to share their opinion (whatever it may be) regarding my work.
Second, regarding the tree: I guess Lansing decided to switch to LED lights this year to save money. There was an article in the paper about it the day they lit it...talking about how they usually shred the tree with the lights still on it, but this way, LED's save on energy costs and they can reuse them (I believe). Personally, I am a fan of the big, old-fashioned bulbs. For some reason the tree appears as if it only has BLUE lights on it in person , when theres also red, green, purple and I think one other color. I understand where the city is coming from, but I dont think it looks as festive as it did in past years.

Ha! I hear ya.. I love the look of those old school big holiday lights too. I guess if the city is saving money, that’s a good thing. I just feel bad for the guys that have to take off all those LED's from the tree and box them up for next year.
Thanks

# 4 did it for me... nice work... must be cold out there setting up a tripod, long exposures, etc. I'm looking to go out around the city for some similar shots soon but not looking forward to the bundling up for it!
