This is in the darkened sanctuary of my church. I thought that the actual zooming during exposure would be the difficult part, but found that the biggest challenge is getting things lined up so they don't skew off in some odd direction during the zoom. Regardless, it was a fun experiment.

This is amazing! I am curious though what the curved line below the cross was? Also just for curiousity, what was your camera/ lens?

Great shot though! Very sharp and steady zooming! (thats why I ask what the kit was)

Thanks for the comments click and roo.

...

The curved line extends from the cutout of the cross on a hill in the baptistry. The cross/hill motif it raised about 8" from the back wall with flourescent lighting underneath. Camera was an xti with Sigma 17-70mm zoom mounted on a heavy borrowed tripod which helped to steady things during the zoom. This was a lot of fun to play with. The image was taken with church promotional materials/brochures in mind.

I agree with your assessment - the setup is the hardest part. Looks like you nailed it, though. Very nice, crisp image. Nicely done!

It's looks like a frame from Return to Castle Wolfenstein! Cool.
