Really good shot! I like that you have the entire face in focus and the high key sky is good too; even kept some blue in it. Nice work.

I cant give advice but I want to say how much I appeciate you putting the details of the photo in because I am just a beginner and it helps me get my head around this stuff.
Lovely dog too, what breed is she. I have 2 blue whippets, same colour, very different beast!

You know you can get those details of almost every photo posted online? Google "EXIF viewer" ... if you have Firefox, google "Opanda EXIF" :D

Nice perspective, the face is sharp exactly where it should be. I also like the specs of sand, it makes the dog real and not staged. I agree with ^^^^that more blue sky detail would make it even better, you could bring it out in RAW format but it is almost impossible to do in JPEG. Still, despite a contrasty sky the face details came out great.

Oh, I would also try to crop a bit more and reduce some of the sky background, especially on the right hand side.

I personally like the room on the right; gives it a bit of leading space.
