I was hoping to catch a pair of Canadian Geese on the water, even for a little bit, but they were to sharp eyed, and fast. I was able to track one free hand and got this shot. I printed it at 13 x 19 on my Canon i9900 and it looks nice . . . if you do not stand too close.
Tammie . . . this one is flying to the right side of me, not away from me, lol.

Wow, we can see his head. LOL. Looks like you're getting the hang of the flying bird shot. Those geese sure are pretty.

Nice shot . . . what is it? A shore type bird or? I think it one we have not. You must have the 70-300 on for this?
Do you use your 50/1.4 very much. I have one and try to use it all I can. I suppose I will have to have a 50mm day and leave everything else home. This makes for for interesting and unusual shots I have found. When you have to make do and change up your work you will find 'new' ways and different looks . . .

Nice shot . . . what is it?
It's a killdeer, and a great shot if it, too!

That's the lens I had on and I didn't change it for fear the bird would exit before I made the switch. I like my 50mm for portrait work and I take a lot of pictures of my grandson with it. I am still pretty new with this camera and lenses...only 2 weeks so I have tons to learn. Went to the mountains today and shot a ton of the wildflowers using my Tamron...I was pretty pleased with them. I have 2 weddings in April so I am committing myself to 2 hours/day practice shooting....darn:)

I know most of my birds from the back side . . . as many point out to me. Nice shot . . . both of them. Too bad about you Having to shoot a couple of hours a day . . . that must 'hurt.'
