First off, I apologize about the number of pictures. I tried to whittle that down. Really! :)
I did a little cemetery hopping today. I started off at Hollywood Forever, permanent home to hundreds of stars from the early days of movie making, as well as a few more recent ones. This cemetery has a small lake, and it attracts a lot of birds.
I'd heard that Tyler Cassidy, the cemetery's owner, recently bought six peacocks for the cemetery. I only found one, and was surprised to see it was snow white. I've never seen a peacock that had no color at all! I'd guess it's an albino, but it didn't have red eyes:

One of several very loud geese. This came after me from Douglas Fairbanks' grave:

Got any food?

Another goose in front of Johnny Ramone's recent grave. Dee Dee Ramone is also buried at this cemetery, on the other side of the lake. I apologize about the burned out sky. It was very overcast and hazy, yet dark and shadowy here. Almost impossible to meter for:

I don't know what he was looking for. There are no fish in the lake:

This is an egret, right? It was very small! I'm sorry about the poor quality. It's a crop, and since I wasn't expecting to shoot birds, I only carried my hiking/cemetery camera -- the Olympus. Lesson learned: Always carry the Canon, just in case:

Interesting shots. It seems that Ian attracts elks and owls, while you get the geese and ducks. No justice, is there? Anyway, that's the best shot I've seen of a goose attack.

Nice shots, Lonnie.
The peocock must have seen one too many ghost in that cemetery.
The geese must have been put there to act as guard dogs. I hear they make better guard dogs than guard dogs do (don't ask me where I heard that, though  )

LOL... You might be onto something about the peacock. There are a couple areas in this cemetery that are said to be haunted...
I've heard that about geese, too. I don't think these ones were put there, though. They came in on their own. A couple years ago there was one that had a broken leg. It was pretty sad to see it trying to hobble around. It must have had something wrong with it's wing(s), too because it never tried to fly. I heard that it was killed by a cat owned by someone living in the apartment building next door. :(

No the white peacock is actually the NBC peacock and it just saw how bad there ratings were   and the goose that's probably the CBS or ABC goose for all the goose egg shows they air    Great shots Lonnie, love the Johnny Ramone tombstone. I think when I pass on to the great camera store in the sky I want a tombstone of me holding the most expensive Canon gear out there.

For that fourth shot of goose, I'd make sure I have a bullet proof filter on my glass!

Great shots Lonnie. Hanging out in the cemetry again I see.
We had some brown geese on the farm where I grew up and quite honestly I would have rather had the dog chase me than these guys. The scared the bejesus out of a young fellow and it hurt when they did manage to nip you.

Thanks again, everyone.

Good idea! Maybe I'll just have my gear bronzed and used as part of the marker... :D
One of my favorite markers in this cemetery is Banjamin "Bugsy" Siegel. The inscription on it reads "In loving memory from the family." They ain't talkin' mom and dad, there... He always has flowers, and usually has several lipstick lip prints on the marble face of his mausoleum crypt.
By the way, Paramount Studios is directly behind (south) the cemetery.

I guess I should mention, this one wasn't attacking. He was hoping for something to eat. When I lowered the camera and said "I don't have any bread," he stopped and waddled away. The birds here (except that egret) are actually fairly friendly. :D

peahens have no colour to talk off
Really? I'm sure I've seen peahens before. Lemme look...
Ok, I just did an image search on google, and while many of the peahens it returned do have color (usually a brownish), there were several hits for girls that were pure white, just like this one. I guess that's what it was! Learn something new every day.
Thanks for the lesson! :)

Hey Lonnie ! I know who that first goose is, It's that darn AFLAC goose I see on TV. I should have known, what with that being out there with all the stars. Must be picking out his plot     but then again I think he's a duck.
