The new Federal Highway Administration Worker Visibility Rule went into effect Monday, requiring anyone working on a road funded with federal dollars to wear brightly colored vests in an effort to reduce accidents and fatalities.
Spokeswoman Nancy Singer says the rule applies to construction crews, tow-truck operators, journalists and anyone working along major highways and interstate.
