is there any way to change the folder stucture? cause I hate the way its saving photos by default...like today i was at a track meet, shot a TON of photos, I had like 6-7 folders with less than 15 images in them...

id rather just have one BIG folder...cause multiple cards, folders with the same name ect...it becomes a pain!

Have you tried using Downloader Pro (http://************/kyyt) ? I would recommend it to everybody.

I agree, downloader Pro is exceptional. I have been using it for years. You can automate and customize all the save settings.

You cannot change the directory structure that the camera writes to.

I don't see how you could end up with 7 folders with 15 images in them though?

20D puts 100 images in a folder,. unless the 100 images are "interupted" with a card removal,. so if you take a card out with you most recent folder having 48 images in it,. then put in a new card,. that 2nd cards first folder will have only 52 images before a new folder is created.

Each folder has only one set of images labeled ####00 -####99 (or is it 01-00?)

lol, exactly...depends how many you delete. Yeah, that's another poo poo I don't like the 20D, why can they do what Nikon does, force a whole series of events in single folder, when I am ready to move on, than I'll do it. Geesh.

yeah, but that might be the only + for nikon...hehe

i do wish i could move whole events to one folder, or seperate...spilling up these track events is hard enough...

Canon has an easy solution for that. Upgrade to one of the newer 1D series cameras. You can tend put all you images in one folder and then create another folder to put newer pictures into. You'll be able to hold about 9999 images in each folder. Hopefully that'll be more than adequate for your needs.

Here's my trick, assuming Windows. In "My Computer", right click the CF reader drive and select "Search". If you type nothing here and just click the Search button, you will get all of your images across all folders, where you can sort by date, file extension, etc., and then move or copy to your local hard drive.

However, I like PacAce's solution better. :)

If you use downloader pro you don't need to.

The only reason I can see folder structure being an issue is for downloading the images, and downloader will simply take al the images of the card and dump them into a folder.
