Welp, Today is my birthday (I'm 24), I've noticed my girlfriend recently registered not only here but a few other photo forums I visit a few weeks back, and often bringing up questions and such. Well today she got me the Sunpak PZ5000AF for the Canon EOS flash. Apparently she found out I've been looking at it as an alternative to the Canon 550EX , to be able to get second curtain flash on my Rebel, as well as a couple other features. So I'm pretty giddy right now, certainly an upgrade from my full manual Vivitar 283 flash, But I'll likely keep that around for some close up macro work and such, since I have not only an AC adapter for that flash, but also an off-shoe cable. So... I'm happy.

Hehe, The cake I had was Creme Belue ( however you spell it ) cheese cake, from my favorite itallian restaurant "Vitales" , they dont sell them by the whole cheesecake just by the slice, but the restaurant having known I've been there on a number of occasions ( though I've only been there maybe 3 or 4 times all last year ), decided to make me a cheesecake , 14 slices @ cost. So that was nice of them. Had chinese for the dinner, my brother paid, my only three gifts were some gemstones (I collect them and such for interest and for photography, they also have some astrological/pagan-related significance) , from my girlfriend, the Sunpak PZ5000AF from my girlfriend, and some colonge (cant spell) from the rest of the family.

I'd say the flash is my best gift and something i'd been looking forward too, didnt get home from the movies til late, so the only thing I had did just to be silly was use the strobe feature of the flash ( 5 flashes @ 5 hz , I can choose upto 10 flashes, and from 1 to 99 hz with the camera ), in the living room pitch dark. This is by no means what I'd call a picture, just a silly attempt to try out the flash. http://www.karlblessing.com/images/share/strobe_fun.jpg

btw thats the sponge bob piggy bank rose had her 1 dollar coins in, she used to take me out to the movies tonight, thus why its on the living room floor
